FAQ's - INTERNATIONAL SERIES

How do I track my outdoor run?

1. If you have an iPhone – Please download the Running World Cup (RWC) International Series app via the Apple store and track your run this way. See link below or search for ‘RWC International Series’ in the Apple Store. (Please ensure you pick the RWC International Series app and NOT the Running World Cup app as this will not work for the International series events).

https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/rwc-international-series/id1530670976

Once you have downloaded the app, please register using the same email address that you used when you paid for your place and click on the race you are entered for.  The tracking software for the event and leaderboard will only work between 9am-12pm on the morning of your event (although you can do a test run before the event by clicking on ‘track a run’ at top of the app). Click ‘START’ once the race begins at 9am. When you have completed the 10k distance, click ‘STOP’ and then click on the leaderboard tab in the app where you will be able to see the live scores as they come in.

2. If you have an android phone – Please follow the link below to download the Google app and track your runs:

The tracking software for the event and leaderboard will only work between 9am-12pm on the morning of your event (although you can do a test run before the event by clicking on ‘track a run’ at the top of the app).  Click ‘START’ once the race begins at 9am. When you have completed the 10k distance, click ‘STOP’ and you will be taken to the leaderboard where you will be able to see live scores as they come in.

3. Use your own tracking device. These trackers can be linked automatically to the Running World Cup International Series app. Scroll across on the menu at the top of the app and click on ‘external trackers’ from there you can connect Strava, Under Armour, Pacer and Garmin. If you are using an Apple Watch you will need to use one of these tracking devices (e.g. Strava) on your Apple Watch which will link automatically to the Running World Cup International Series App if you have enable the connection. Your run will automatically update to the leaderboard in the app but please allow up to 30 minutes for this to happen.

4. Upload a manual run. If you cannot get your tracking app to connect or you use a different tracking device, then please use it track your run as normal. Then please click on the event within the app, then click on leaderboard, at the bottom of this page please click on add a manual run. If you don’t see it, make sure you have the latest version of the app (see links in the section above) and you are logged in with the email address you bought the ticket with. From there you can enter your run manually with a screenshot that shows the date, time taken and length of your run. If this fails then it is possible to also update a manual run here:

https://runningworldcup.com/international-series-manual-upload/

This screenshot must be with us by 12pm noon (UK time) on the day of the event that you are running in.

How I do track my indoor run on a treadmill?

You will need a tracking device like a Fitbit or Garmin watch or the Pacer app that tracks treadmill runs as our RWC International series app currently doesn’t track treadmill runs. So you will need to upload a  manual run.

Please click on the event within the app, then click on leaderboard, at the bottom of this page please click on add a manual run. If you don’t see it, make sure you have the latest version of the app (see links in the section above – how do I track my run) and you are logged in with the email address you bought the ticket with. From there you can enter your run manually with a screenshot that shows the date, time taken and length of your run. If this fails then it is possible to also update a manual run here:

This screenshot must be with us by 12pm noon (UK time) on the day of the event that you are running in.

When does the event start and when does my run need to be submitted by?

We are encouraging everyone to start running at the same time i.e. 9am on the Saturday morning. Every 10km run needs to completed and submitted by 12pm noon (UK time) on that day.

Your results will be added to the leaderboard automatically if you are using the RWC International Series app on an iphone or android phone. If you need to submit your results manually via another device/screenshot – please submit by using the link below by 12pm noon (UK time)

The app isn’t letting me track?

The ‘Tracking’ section of the app will work only once the event is live. You can do a test run by clicking ‘Track a run’ button on the scroll bar at the top of the app.

If you are in the 9am-12pm window of the live event and the tracking section is not working,  please logout and fully close the app and re-open and it should appear. Please also check that you have registered for this event – the event on the app homescreen should be marked showing you are registered. If it is not then please ensure you logged in using the email address that you bought the ticket with.

Do I have to use the RWC International Series App?

If you have an iPhone or android phone we encourage everyone to use the app, as this is the easiest way to track your run and ensures it is included within your countries total. Your run results are automatically added to the leaderboard. It also allows you to see the event live and see progress from other participants. However, you can use other tracker devices like Strava, Garmin, Polar, Pacer, Mapmyrun and Fitbit. Be sure to connect them within the external trackers section within the app.

When will you announce the result?

We will announce the final leaderboard via the app on the day of the race once all the entries are in and we will confirm the results via an email to you on the Monday after the event. You will also be able to see the live results as they come in and the leaderboard will change over time until the final results are announced.

Can I get a refund if I can’t race for any reason?

Unfortunately not – we do not offer refunds for race entries so please only sign up if you are intending to run. We are very sorry if you can’t run due to illness or other unexpected circumstances.

Can I transfer my race entry to someone else?

Unfortunately not – race entries are personal to you and cannot be transferred.

When are all the fixtures?

All the fixtures are on the website. They are also on the RWC International Series app that can be downloaded. (see FAQ ‘how to track my outdoor run’ for more details).

Will other people be able to see my location?

No, the running data is anonymised (not linked to you) and the map showing participants taking part only shows approximate location. It is +/- 250m from a participants actual location. Only you will be able to see your accurate location using the in app tracking. Your time is published with your name along with the event on the app leaderboard as your run result is added.

When do I receive my medal?

Medals will be sent out the week after the event for those that successfully complete the race. You will receive a shipping confirmation email once it is on its way to you. Thanks for being part of the event!
